Brocton 0-4 Hereford

Hereford FC continued their excellent winning streak with a comprehensive 4-0 victory at Brocton. Carlos Moreira opened the scoring in the first-half, before two penalties by John Mills and a strike from Adam Page in the second-period. The attendance at Brocton was 338.

Following last weekend's narrow victory over Long Eaton United, Peter Beadle made two changes to that team. Nathan Summers missed out due to an injury picked up at college, being replaced by Jimmy Oates. Moreira was handed his first league start of the campaign with Solomon Wheatley still out with injury.

Jimmy Oates Started For Hereford FC
The Bulls' had a good opportunity to go in front in the opening stages with Mills firing wide from a good position, on the edge of the box.

Mills' Shot Went Wide
The opening goal of the game was scored by the youngster Moreira; excellent work down the left saw Page cross across the face of goal and Moreira tucked in at the back-post past the 'keeper, despite the intentions of his marker.

Carlos Moreira Gets Past His Marker
Hereford had opportunities to move further in front of the hosts, with Ryan Green having a close-range header well held, and Joel Edwards sending a soft-half volley into the arms of the 'keeper.

Ryan Green Gets His Head On The Ball
Hereford started the second-half well and Mills saw a looping header pushed over by the home 'keeper. The away side were awarded a penalty in the second-half for handball when Page had an effort from 18 yards which was blocked by an outstretched hand of the covering defender. Mills picked up the ball and struck in from 12 yards, to double Hereford's advantage.

Mills Converts His First Penalty
Hereford thought they had made it three after some more good work from Moreira, who sprinted in behind the Brocton defence and a cross was knocked home by Mills, but the striker was adjudged to be offside.

It Would Have Been Two For Mills But For The Assistant Referee's Flag
Brocton were reduced to ten men mid-way through the second-half; Lomas was shown a straight-red for a high boot on Green. Soon after the red-card, Mills had a good chance to make it three but he couldn't hit the target from a good position.

With just over twenty minutes remaining, Hereford were awarded another penalty. A goalbound rebound was again handled inside the box and Mills made no mistake, scoring for the second time of the day from the spot.

Second Penalty Conversion For Mills
Beadle introduced Anthony Robbins for his league debut for Hereford, replacing Dylan Bonella. A fourth goal of the afternoon was added as the ten men Brocton tired; an excellent team-move saw Page and Robbins link up and the on loan Cheltenham man knocked in from 12 yards with his weaker right-foot.

Adam Page Makes It Four
Moreira left the pitch to a well deserved ovation from the away fans, as he was replaced Sirdic Grant. The Hartbury student was soon in the action, his pass finding Mills, who twisted and turned but a shot was well-saved by the goalie. The Bulls were playing some neat football in the closing moments, with Birch passing to Haysham, but his shot was past the post as his search to add for his fifth of the season continued. A couple of minutes later, Haysham again had a shot on goal but the home 'keeper denied him with a good save.

In the first-half, Hereford failed to hit top form, but after the red-card, they played with more freedom and in the end, it was a comprehensive victory. Moreira was awarded the man of the match by the home team, and also the Radio Hereford FC commentary team. With the news that Alvechurch lost at Loughbrough Sport this afternoon, it's proven to be a brilliant day for Beadle's boys.
