Speaking after this afternoon's 2-1 win over Boldmere, Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle admitted it had been a 'tough one'.
Boldmere took the lead before Adam Page equalised. Later Pablo Haysham struck an excellent free-kick to seal the points.
"They came and put men behind the ball, then we shoot ourselves in the foot and make it an uphill battle for us and give them something to cling onto," said Beadle.
"It was good that we got the goal back just before half-time and then it was just a shame it took so long to get the second one.
"They didn't really threaten second half, we just made hard work of it but we've got to get used to it because teams are going to come here and do that, they are going to make it difficult, they are going to put men behind the ball and we've got to make sure we have an understanding that if we can't play through the middle then we've got to go around the outside and behind the teams.
"We didn't do it as well as I would like us to have done but we got the result we needed and it's all good for confidence.
"We did feel as though we started for ten/fifteen minutes a bit sloppy and didn't move it with the same zip we've moved it with before.
"We didn't play 100% but we got a win and it gives us a couple of days to rest a few for Tuesday and get them fresh for next week.
"We were a little bit below the standards we've set today but we need to get results and we've done that."
Hereford created several chances and we're unlucky not to win by a greater margin.
"When we finally got to grips with how to break them down, we did it quite well and we have numerous chances in the end.
"And what was pleasing again was outside of the chance we gave them for the goal they didn't have much of a chance in front of goal so that was really good, pleasing for us and it keeps our run going."
Hereford FC are now third in the table.
"We're only eight games in but it's always nice to be there rather than chasing the pack. We know there are a lot of teams with games in hand but I'd rather have the points on the board which we've got.
"But we need to keep improving our goal difference and stop conceeding silly goals.
"I think today the fans got a sight of some of the things they are going to have to get used to at home, teams coming and putting men behind the ball.
"Boldmere have done it today and they did it well and they worked hard and they worked together as a unit and it took us a while to break them down.
"It was a special goal, a great goal to win it."
