Young Bulls Lose At Hay

Hereford FC's under 18 were beaten 3-1 by Hay St Mary's this evening.

Hay were 3-0 ahead at half time with their striker Jack Biggs scoring a hat-trick including a penalty.

However the under 18's pulled one back through Fletcher in the second period.

Around 70 spectators were at the game. That might have been higher but for the wet weather.

After the friendly the under 18 manager Steve Brotherwood spoke to BN.

"I think we'll take the positives out of it.

"It's difficult for the boys when they are playing against adults. For a lot of them it's their first taste of playing against adults.

"I thought we did quite well in possession probably up to the final third.

"Then we just need that little bit of quality, little bit of movement. But we can work on that."

The Hereford FC Subs
Two Hay boys were in the Hereford squad and came on after half-time.

"Matty Tong who is with the under 16's came on and did okay and worked hard.

"Callum Maddy did okay as well. Both of them have got all the enthusiasm in the world. Just need to pop it at times and keep the ball moving. That will come with time."

Meanwhile Carlos Moreira and Tom Gameson from the under 18's signed first team forms this morning.

In essence that means they are registered for the season and are available if needed.

"It dangles the carrot for the other boys," said Brotherwood.
