News may remember a couple of years ago that Nick Hodges (Testers Tash)
set up a charity in memory of his son (Bodie) so that money could be
raised to buy a holiday home for parents who have been bereaved of child.
The charity has nearly reached its target as Nick explains.
"I'm delighted to say that we are very close to achieving our fundraising target of £175,000 and in order to help us get there we are running an online silent auction with some truly incredible items," Nick told BN.
"I would like to make a proposal that if any HFC supporter is to be successful in winning an item then we will donate 10% of the profit we make (after card fee's) to the Supporters Trust in order to buy shares.
"The auction site can be found on http://bodiehodges.auction-bid.org/micro2.php. The first seven items listed have been donated so there is a 100% profit for us and would ultimately lead to a bigger donation to the Supporters Trust. The remaining items will see us make a profit once bids have been made above the reserve price. The auction will run for 11 days and will end on the night of our big fundraising event. All bidding can be done via mobile, tablet or laptop and notifications will be sent if you are outbid.
"The fundraising event is our Sports Dinner & Live Auction with England &Leicester Tigers Legends Rory Underwood, George Chuter & Dan Cole. It takes place on 26th March in the 1880 Suite at Leicester Tigers ground. I know this is unlikely to appeal to many due to the distance (but it's where I live). Tickets are £65 and includes drinks reception, 4 course meal, comedy, auction and DJ set from Frank Benbini of the Fun Lovin Criminals."
