News Round-Up

A Grimsby Town fan says he will never visit Forest Green again after being put into a headlock by stewards and dragged out of the stadium when he tried to inflate a beach ball. The 41 year old was with his mother and daughter at the game, but was set upon by a trio of security staff before the match started.

Northern League side Ashington have named former England cricketer Steve Harmison as their new manager. His brother James used to captain the side, who are currently 17th in Division One. In the FA Trophy semi-final draw, Torquay will face the winners of tonight's Halifax vs Wrexham tie while Bath and Dover replay tomorrow night for the right to face North Ferriby in the other semi.

Yeovil chairman John Fry says their playing budget in League One this season was a total of £1.7million, double the figure when they won promotion from the division two years ago. Fry says the money made from their FA Cup game with Manchester United will go to cover 'substantial' losses for the current season.

Former Oxford chairman Kelvin Thomas will stay in his advisory role to Torquay for the remainder of the season. Thomas will continue to seek new investment for the side after conducting a review of the business.
