News Round-Up

Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker has called the appointment of Paul Buckle as manager 'a big mistake'. The former Luton boss lasted just 79 days, with Baker saying the club's biggest mistakes were appointing managers with no affiliation with the club like Buckle and Martin Allen. Caretaker boss Russell Milton has put his name forward for the job along with former boss John Ward and former coach John Schofield.

Former Bull Michael Townsend's retirement from football has lasted a month, with the 28 year old defender signing for Richard Sneekes' Rushall Olympic in the Northern Premier and scoring on his debut yesterday. He quit the game in January due to a back injury. Joining him at The Pics is Javia Roberts, who was an unused sub after a brief spell with Redditch, with Steve Leslie also at the club.
