Worcester Beat Coventry In FA Cup

Worcester City took over 3,000 supporters, including a good number of boycotting Hereford United fans, to the Ricoh Arena and beat Coventry 2-1.

With ex-Bull Tyler Weir in the side, and Matt Gardiner and John Snape on the coaching staff, it was Hereford-born keeper Lee Burge that caused the game to change when he was sent off late in the first half. Striker Sean Geddes netted the resulting penalty and added a second after half time before the Sky Blues pulled a late goal back to set up a nervy finish.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Sam Clucas netted as Chesterfield ran out 6-0 winners at Braintree. Kyle Perry scored a consolation goal as Altrincham lost 4-1 at lower graded Blyth Spartans.
