Disappointing Match Day Programme

Last Saturday Hereford United produced a 20 page match day programme for their game against Arlesey Town which cost £2.

Southern League rules say that the club has to produce a programme and given the recent cut-backs at Edgar Street it's no doubt difficult to justify in financial terms.

However, despite that, one would have hoped that the contents of the programme would have been a bit more informative.

Last Saturday that wasn't the case.

1) The front cover picture was of former keeper, Will Viner. His only appearance was in the Cinderford cup game and has not been seen since.

2) There was a six page history of Arlesey, in the middle of which was a list of Hereford's fixtures from October 18th until Nov 22nd including next Saturday's game which the club said is against Chesham,  not the Trophy Game against Mangotsfield United .

3) The HUFC pen pics of the management team didn't include Jeff Wheeler, the new coach. Of the 15 players featured six are no longer with the club.

4) The next home match page was partly correct, it is Dorchester on Tuesday. However underneath it said the Bulls are home again this Saturday against Dorchester.

5)A whole page on the Chairman's view. It started 'The last week has been a very trying time, however we still remain positive regarding the new investment. We must not forget we are all here because of the football.' In all Andy Lonsdale's column contained just 54 words.

6) On the back page team news with Hereford on the left side and Cambridge City, not Arlesey, on the right.

Surely someone in charge should have looked through the contents before they were photo-copied?
