Herefordshire Council has contacted Bulls News to explain why the 7,500 signature petition was rejected.
It told us: 'The petition was rejected on the grounds that it contained defamatory comments towards an individual. The petition can be re-submitted if these comments are removed.
However, it must be stressed that as stated earlier in the summer on our HUFC FAQs, the council has not been formally asked to re-assign the leases, so the position remains unchanged.'
When asked if the petitioner had received a list of the the offending comments, the Council pointed BN to the rejection letter. When further pressed on the matter, that the petitioner would have to go through all 7,500 comments to remove unknown offending comments, the Council have so far declined to answer.
