News Round-Up

The latest live BT Sport games for March have been announced as 7th - Dartford v Chester,  17th - Luton v Woking, 24th - Halifax v Alfreton, nd 27th - Southport v FGR. All the matches will kick off at 7.45pm. Ex-Bull Brian Smikle is reported to have joined Stafford Rangers following his release by Altrincham.

Former Bull Byron Anthony played 70 minutes of a reserve team fixture for Newport yesterday, his first action since a double leg break suffered in a game at Brighton in August. Mansfield chairman John Radford says the club needs gates of 4,500 to break even. He has had to cut his financial support from £100,000 a month to £34,000, with the money now coming from his own wealth rather than his insurance company.

Alfreton have loaned midfielder Alastair Taylor to Buxton for a month. The 22 year old spent January on loan at Gainsborough. Welling have loaned forward Kiernan Hughes-Mason to Hayes and Yeading for an initial month. The 22 year old spent December in Conf South with Concord Rangers

Nuneaton striker Dave Hibbert suffered a concussion during last night's win over Lincoln. The veteran forward was taken to hospital following his 39th minute withdrawal, but he was released later in the evening and travelled home with the rest of the squad. Tamworth boss Dale Belford says he tried to sign Kidderminster striker Anthony Malbon on loan but was told by Andy Thorn that the player was not available.

Maidstone claim that nearly half of all Conference clubs wanted 3G pitches to be allowed in the competition next season. The club say 30 clubs voted in favour of the proposal with North and South clubs only getting a total of eight votes between them. The club now says it will pursue the matter through the courts if the competition does not change it's mind over the surface.
