Nick Nenadich |
Hereford United director Nick Nenadich has been short-listed for an Adult Community Award as part of the Pride of Herefordshire Awards. His name was put forward by Councillor Brian Wilcox.
Nenadich has raised many thousands of pounds for local charites in recent years despite having two bouts of cancer.
"He has dedicated much of his time and effort over the past years supporting the local community, organising a substantial number of charity events to raise money to help local cancer sufferers and their families," Wilcox told the Hereford Journal.
Nenadich hasn't allowed his illness to stop his fund-raising activities.
"Most people would put everything else on hold and sort their own health problems first," said Wilcox.
"Not Nick, in fact he delayed his operation until after the biggest charity event of the year, in May 2013, the Charity Ball, and arranged it for the following week."
Nenadich continues to help good causes, just recently he helped organise a 'Caribbean' day at the Starlite Rooms in aid of St Michaels's Hospice.
"The way he showed such courage and selishness in helping others in the local community and putting himself last more than qualifies him to be the Pride of Herefordshire."
The Pride of Herefordshire Awards will be announced at a dinner on October 16th at the Three Counties Hotel.
