News Round-Up

Grimsby boss Paul Hurst says he 'does not fully understand' the reasons behind the removal of Rob Scott as joint manager. Hurst told the press after their draw with Luton that he hoped Scott would be able to return to the role, but he would continue on his own if necessary. The club have refused to elaborate on speculation about the move, but have denied it was related to the club's performances on the pitch.

Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin says Conference survival is the club's only aim despite being second in the table. The Boro are one of only two unbeaten sides in the division. Chester boss Neil Young says he is to go into the loan market again to find a striker. He tried to sign one ahead of last week's deadline but failed when the player signed for another side.

Wrexham assistant boss Billy Barr says he and manager Andy Morrell are under pressure after they recorded three losses in a row for the first time in over four years. Their next game is on Friday night, televised against Luton, having started on Saturday with just four of the eleven players that contested the play-off final four months ago. Coventry recorded their worst ever Football League attendance yesterday as barely 1,500 Sky Blues fans watched their match at Sixfields. Fans protested against owners SISU on a hill by the ground, nicknamed Jimmy's Hill.

Carlisle have sacked manager Greg Abbott after a poor start to the season. The League One side have just two points from six games, with the worst goal difference in the division. The local Braintree press make the claim, following their draw with Forest Green at the weekend, that the entire Braintree wage bill equals the pay handed to the front three for the Gumpers at the weekend.
