Speaking after this afternoon’s game, Bulls' fullback Danny
Leadbitter said "the pitch is top rate.
The ball runs true and it will be better when we can get a bit more
water on it to speed up the surface".
A couple of Torquay players were also
overheard to say that the pitch was "much better than ours".
The Bulls' groundsman, Ian Pritchard, noted that it was "probably a bit harder than they’d like but it's early for the grass growth and I'm keen not to use too much water while the root structure is establishing".
"I'm pleased with how our work has
gone and with two weeks to go before the big kick-off I'm confident that we'll
start the season with a surface as good as any in this league."
