Aldershot's fans are reported to have donated £32,000 to fund the shortfall at the club as of last night, but have been warned by the Administrator that the gap could be £75,000 rather than £50,000. The deadline for completion of the sale has been extended to midweek with a number of issues still to be resolved.
Alfreton have announced the signing of veteran defender Chris Westwood for the coming season. The 36 year old was released by Wrexham due to budget cuts and rejected overtures to return there afterwards. Halifax have signed defender Simon Ainge for the coming season. The 25 year old left Luton earlier in the week after becoming surplus to John Still's plans.
Luton have signed midfielder Luke Guttridge after he turned down a new contract at Northampton. The 31 year old has signed a two year deal after two spells with the Cobblers being split by a stint with Aldershot.
