News Round-Up


Hyde have signed striker Tom Collins after he was released by Stockport. The 20 year old scored once in 19 games for the Hatters last term. Grimsby are trialling former Bradford defender Matt Clarke. The 32 year old left the Bantams three years ago, playing in Malta since for a trio of different sides.

Southport have lost the services of midfielder Alan Moogan, with the non-contract 29 year old joining the outpost of Merseyside that is Telford. The Bucks have signed a string of former Sandgrounders since Liam Watson's arrival at the club. The Sandgrounders have signed utility man Luke George. The 20 year old was with Stafford Rangers over the past two seasons.

Macclesfield have handed striker Arthur Ghanoua a new contract for the coming season. The 20 year old cost a fee last summer but made only three sub appearances for the Silkmen all season, failing to play once under former boss Steve King. New Barnet coach Dick Schreuder tore ankle ligaments in his first day on the training field. The Dutchman has returned home to have the injury operated on.

Aldershot's Administrator is being accused of failing to speak to some of the club's creditors. More than one, including former Shots player Olly Lancashire, has claimed that correspondence has been ignored as the club tries to renegotiate it's £1.4million debt down to the £600,000 available from the prospective owners, a trio of club directors. One party standing firm on it's debt repayment is the family of late club chairman John McGinty who say that, despite having written off large parts already, are being offered only 20% of their remaining sum.

Former Bulls loanee Lateef Elford-Aaliyu is on trial with Northampton following his release from Crawley. The former West Brom trainee started last season with Bury but was released in January after only one start. A man has been released without charge after an investigation into missing cash at Chester. A large black hole was discovered in their finances at the start of the year, and the unnamed man was arrested on suspicion of theft. The club have tightened financial controls since the discovery.
