The Conference are still to determine how much clubs will receive from the BT Sport TV deal.
With fans eager to hear of the opening televised games, with plans to be made for travel, Conference General Manager Dennis Strudwick told the press: “I am sure the deal with BT Sport will attract a lot of attention. We
will be sitting down with BT to work out how much teams will get.”
Strudwick also spoke of the search for a new sponsor, with the figures due to clubs according to him suggesting the yearly value of the deal could be close to £1million:
“The Football Conference is a great product. Setanta used to call the league the jewel in their crown. We’re not the only league in this position, it is a sign of the times.”
The Football League is also without a sponsor, with nPower pulling the plug this summer and B&Q pulling out of talks on a £21million three year deal at the last minute after the League snubbed an offer from Dominos Pizza.
