After press reports that around 60 people were arrested in Nuneaton yesterday afternoon, the CEO of the football club, Ian Neale, issued a press statement.
"Police went into the Granby pub to organise an escort to town for
Nuneaton fans, and only three people said they were interesting in going
to the match," said Neale.
"They were allowed to leave the pub to take a taxi to the
ground, which is two miles away from where the arrests were made.
"The Boro is a family club and people who are looking for trouble are not welcome at our ground. Anyone found guilty of any offences today will be banned from the ground for life."
According to reports police went to several locations in the centre of Nuneaton from around 10.30am.
This continued for the next five hours, and arrests were made from about 3.20pm at The Granby pub in the town centre.
UPDATE: The Lincolnshire Echo reports that a total of 87 people were arrested for violent disorder, but claims that none of them were Lincoln City fans.
