Herefordshire Council have failed to find any information about the £100K bond lodged by the BS Group and Chelverton.
The bond was lodged by the companies as part of the deal for them to take over the lease on Edgar Street from Hereford United after the football club had to 'borrow' £1M to stay in business in the late 90's. It was reported at the time that the money could go towards repairs to the Sportsman Club which suffered a fire in 1995.
A small part of the bond, believed to be £17K, was paid to the football club by the council in 2001 after some work was carried out on the Club.
The Council are understood to have searched for any documents about the bond but nothing has been discovered.
It had been hoped that the Council would release the remaining £83K after the football club completed the rebuilding of the Sportsman Club twelve months ago.
Any supporter who has any information that might help shed light on the details of the bond including specific dates is asked to contact the club.
