Pompey Court Case Delay Threatens Club's Existence

Portsmouth's Administrator has had their court case over the ownership of Fratton Park adjourned until mid-January, with opponents Portpin claiming the money will run out at the club within a week.

A statement from Balram Chanrai's company says the Administrator, who they have unsuccessfully tried to replace earlier in the week, admitted in court documents that they would run out of money to fund the club by December 21st.

The statement claims the court action is a 'huge waste of time and money' and that they had already been awarded £400,000 in legal fees against the club - which they would chase Administrators PKF for rather than the club itself.

At the root of the adjournment, claim Portpin, is that the backer who Portsmouth Supporters Trust (PST) had lined up to buy Fratton Park on their behalf did not have the money to complete the deal. This claim is yet to be substantiated, with the Administrators and PST still to issue a statement on the situation.
