Bristol Rovers have named John Ward as their new manager, nicking him from under the noses of Plymouth.
The Pilgrims were set to name the 61 year old as their new Director of Football, but Ward stalled on the deal at the last minute and has now been unveiled as the Pirates' new chief. He is no stranger to Bristol football having managed both Rovers and City during the 1990's.
He has signed a deal until the end of the season with the club 23rd in League Two.
