Hereford United defender Stefan Stam was absent from Edgar Street today but with a very good reason.
His partner gave birth to a baby daughter this afternoon.
Stam had been picked to start the game but when the news came through that the birth was imminent, manager Martin Foyle decided to bring in Luke Graham to replace him.
"Stef was playing," Foyle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I thought he did very well at Alfreton and deserved to keep his place.
"Luke was on the bench and I had to bring him back a little bit earlier than I anticipated."
