Aldershot have announced that striker Danny Hylton has lost his appeal against his eight match ban after being found guilty of two counts of racial abuse in a match with Barnet last October. He was also told to pay a further £1,000 in costs. Sheff Utd have told office staff they are looking to make 20 people redundant following their failure to win promotion back to the Championship. The have handed notices to 50 members of staff looking for 20 volunteers.

Gateshead have signed striker Ryan McGorrigan on a short term deal. The 19 year old was released by Newcastle in the summer and earlier this month had a trial with Mansfield. Corby hope to complete the signing for former Bulls loanee Nathaniel Wedderburn before their first match this weekend. The former Stoke trainee played for Corby boss Ian Sampson at Northampton.

Mansfield boss Paul Cox says he will make 'some horrible decisions' before Saturday after his side opened the season with two straight defeats. He accused some of his players of being at the club for the wrong reasons and is prepared to send them out the door if necessary. Wrexham have extended the trial of winger Simon Hackney until the end of the month. The former Carlisle man has had a couple of injuries since arriving with the club in early July.

Former Chester owner Stephen Vaughan has sidestepped his UK ban on being a company director by taking over Maltese side FC Floriana. The club has fellow boxing promoter Justin Attard as President, while son Stephen Jnr is also involved. Vaughan sidekick Mark Wright has been installed as Floriana's new coach. The announcement of Vaughan's investment comes after the club were warned off a sponsorship by an Albanian gambling firm by the local FA.
