The current financial problems at Hereford United have, once again, been highlighted by chairman David Keyte.
In an interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester broadcast earlier today, Keyte made the point that players currently on contract have to be paid during the summer.
However the chairman feels that there are brighter times ahead.
"We're struggling through this summer because we are now in the period of time where we've got two/three months left of wages because it is a situation that even though a player who has not been given a contract for next year who has a contract to June 30th - if he has not secured a job with another club we have to pay another month severance pay.
"At a time when the income has stopped we have got a cash flow situation to cover for the next two and a half months.
"We used to get £100,000 in August and then again in January. I think the equivalent now is £50,000.
"We are going to have to cut our cloth accordingly.
"The people coming in have probably got to be younger, cheaper players so there won't be many star names coming in. Draconian measures are needed to make a start next year.
"On the up-side, once we get into it Hereford United does have the chance of being a bigger fish in a smaller pond and I'd like to think above all that we'll see our fair share of wins at Edgar Street and a few goals and we're pushing for promotion.
"But cashwise we've got to get to August first.
"I do firmly believe that there are sunshine days ahead but we've got to get through the next two or three months to start to achieve that.
"There is just not enough of a base of people keeping it going.
