Hereford United chairman David Keyte has said that the Bulls have no divine right to return to the Football League at the first attempt but he hopes that they will be in the mix.
In a question and answer video, Keyte said that the Conference isn't the end of the world.
"I think we have to accept the fact that no even Hereford United has the divine right to come straight back.
"I would like to think we are one of the bigger players in it and would certainly expect to be a top-eight type club but there are bigger football clubs than Hereford United in there.
"Financially we are going to have to go some to balance the books.
"It's sods law that we are going down in the first summer that the Conference is joining the other leagues with a financial model that ever club has to adhere to. You have to put in a break-even budget in July that will get vetted in January.
"It may make it an even playing field which will be good for us.

"If you are in the bottom six of Division Two, then you should be in the top six of the Conference.
"We've got some old stamping grounds to go to. Newport County, Kidderminster and Forest Green Rovers.
"There's more chance of Hereford United getting to Wembley in the FA Trophy."
Director of Football Gary Peters remains with the club.
"He signed a two year contract so he is still here.
"I think it is well known that it didn't work out between manager and director of football during the winter. So I made a decision to get him to sit back a bit.
"He's a part of the general current shake-up. We'll have to see which way the cards fall in that respect.
"The Gary Peters situation will be clearer once the managerial one is resolved."

Keyte answered a question about the details of the Mathieu Manset transfer in January 2011 for which the club has only received £200,000. Recently Manset has been playing with a club in China. Reading have denied receiving any money from China. The registration remains with Reading.
None of the other add-ons have been paid.
"Mathieu had to be in the squad for 50% of the fixtures but he was one behind that then he was loaned out.
"Mathieu has not come through for them. They are looking to move him on in the summer. "
Finally Keyte spoke of his dissappointment that the Bulls have dropped out of the League.
"Knowing we've put more money into the football in the last two seasons than Graham Turner was able to spend on players.
"It is a little bit frustrating that the performances particularily at home have not been as good.
"Ulitmately relegation is a big hurt to take."
