News Round-Up

Newport have started their summer clearout by released former Bulls keeper Glyn Thompson, full back Lee Baker, and striker Elliott Buchanan. Thompson played in their FA Trophy loss to York on Saturday due to injuries and ineligibility, but had been in and out of the side all season. After rejecting an offer from Burnley for defender Luke O'Neill, Mansfield are now reported to be fending off suitors for striker Matt Green. The former Cardiff man netted 29 times during the season.

Rotherham say they have had bids rejected for strikers Matt Tubbs and Jack Midson. Both bids are reported to have been six-figures, with the Tubbs bid a 'club record by some distance'. Former Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has accepted the offer of becoming Director of Football at the club.

Shrewsbury have poached midfielder Asa Hall from Oxford, but are set to lose defender Shane Cansdell-Sheriff and midfielder Nicky Wroe to Preston. Crawley have upped ticket prices in their main stand to £22 for the coming season. Cambridge have released keeper Danny Naisbitt after failing to agree a new deal with him. The 33 year old had offered to take a pay cut, but not large enough for him to fit into the club's current wage structure.
