Hereford United should have a new manager installed by June 1st. That's the hope of chairman David Keyte. In an update given to the Hereford Times, Keyte said that he had now received around 30 applications for the job.
"We are looking to get that down to five or six for interview.
"There are three or four among the applicants that I'm sure everyone would identify.
"We have a board meeting next week and we would like to conduct interviews then as well."
Keyte also revealed that only the eleven players under contract for next season had been retained.
"And it's possible that a new manager may not like the look of them all."
However he did add that he had been in contact with Rob Purdie who is currently on holiday.
As in other recent interviews Keyte mentioned the current problems with finance. However he still sounds optimistic about the future.
"I still believe that average gates of 2100 to 2200 are possible (next season).
"We should see more goals at Edgar Street next season and people want to see a winning side."
