Reading Promotion Could Help Bulls

Reading are currently looking like promotion candidates to the Premiership and if they do rise to the top level of English football there is a chance that Hereford United might benefit.

This benefit stems from the sale of Mathieu Manset in 2011. However whilst the basic details were released by the club, there might be something in the the small print that would curtail any payment.

What is unclear is whether the promotion clause only covered last season or, perhaps more likely, the time Manset is with the club.

Manset Transfer Details Revealed

Details of the transfer of Mathieu Manset to Reading were revealed at this evening's Hereford United AGM.

Whilst both Reading and Crystal Palace made offers for the striker, it was with the Waitrose sponsored club that serious negotations took place.

In the end Manset was sold for a downpayment of £200K, a further £100K depending on appearances, 50K for international appearances, 50K should Reading be promoted and a 15% sell on clause.

Chairman David Keyte was particular pleased with the sell on clause. Initially Reading had only offered 10%.
