The latest accounts for Morecambe Football Club show a loss of £635,000. And it looks as though this current season might not be much better with continuing poor gates at the £12M Globe Arena although the deal, as reported earlier on BN, to sell some land to Marstons could stem the losses.
Last night just 1,207 watched the Shrimps 3-1 win over Cheltenham. On February 28th just 1,246 watched them play Dagenham and two weeks earlier only 1,316 turned up for the visit of Macclesfield.
Chairman Peter McGuigan had hoped for gates of nearer 2,700.
