News Round-Up

Darlington fans raised over £8,000 in bucket collections at the ground on Saturday as well as more than trebling their previous attendance. The Northern Echo is reporting that a proposed 'community interest company' model for the club will need £500,000 in backing by next weekend for the Administrator to consider the proposal. Talks over the future of the club's ground are to continue this week with all parties accepting the ground needs to be downsized for the club to be sustainable.

Wrexham fans raised nearly £1,500 for Kettering in a show of solidarity during their game on Saturday. With manager John Coleman considering his future, Accrington have dropped their interest in signing Sean McConville from Stockport. The 22 year old left Stanley for the Hatters in the summer. Bradford have allowed full back Luke O'Brien to open talks with Exeter with a view to a transfer. The 23 year old product of the Bantams youth system is out of contract in the summer and out of favour with boss Phil Parkinson.

Crewe boss Steve Davis has set a target of 76 points for his side to reach the play-offs. To meet the target the Railwaymen would have to earn two points per game until the end of the season. Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio says he will automatically appeal any ban after being sent to the stands for the third time this season. Di Canio was ordered off by ref Keith Stroud after remonstrating with the official over what the Italian thought was a bad tackle.

Plymouth are reported to be holding talks with John Deehan about being Carl Fletcher's mentor. The former Norwich boss left his last job with Grimsby following their relegation two years ago. The new owners of Northwich's ground have released a statement saying that the club will not play at the ground again. Chemical company Thor say they will contribute to the costs of playing at another ground for the rest of this season and next term, and donate the floodlights and historic Danebank stand to the club, but they plan to demolish the nine acre site.

Northampton are to loan midfielder Paul Turnbull to Stockport for an initial month. The 23 year old left the Hatters for Sixfields in the summer, but has started only nine games for the Cobblers. Cheltenham are to trial striker Matthew Barnes-Homer in their county cup match with Gloucester tomorrow night. The 25 year old was released by Luton earlier in the month, and previously played for Robins' boss Mark Yates at Kidderminster.
