News Round-Up

Darlington will not be allowed to sign any new players after objections from Saturday's opponents Fleetwood. The Quakers were told yesterday afternoon they could sign a couple of teenagers to bolster their ranks, but title contenders Fleetwood objected to the move. Kettering captain Sol Davis says his side will travel to Wrexham tomorrow despite not being paid and having no communication from owner Imraan Ladak. Davis will take charge of the side in the absence of Mark Cooper. Fans have paid for the team's coach to the game.

Wimbledon expect two departures from their squad with a transfer listed duo set to leave. Striker Charles Ademeno is set to agree a mutual termination to his contract, while Fleetwood are chasing winger Ryan Jackson. Plymouth manager Carl Fletcher says he will have final say on the experienced manager that will come in to assist him. Richard Money and Colin Lee have both expressed interest in the job.

Crewe have denied receiving any bids for striker Nick Powell after the Ipswich press claimed Paul Jewell had a £2million offer rejected. Accrington boss John Coleman is reported to have failed to agree personal terms to join Rochdale. Despite Accrington and Rochdale denying any move for the former teacher, Sky Sports reports that he has turned down an offer.

Cheltenham have signed Aldershot winger Jermaine McGlashan for an undisclosed fee. The 23 year old is in his second season of League football, and has signed a two and a half year deal. Northwich are consulting lawyers after being handed an eviction notice. They say they have legal rights as a sitting tenant and cannot be thrown out at such short notice, wanting an agreement to stay until the end of the season so they can seek alternative facilities.

Rotherham say they are hopeful of doubling their season ticket holders when they return to the town next season. Their commercial director hopes to increase their current 1,500 ticket holders past the 3,000 mark and beyond, while they are planning on total gates around 6,000. Barnet have dismissed a local council motion calling for the council to do more to help the football club as just words. In a statement, chairman Tony Kleanthous listed a string of proposals from 2006 that were never met, and that the council needed to do something rather than offer more words.

Oxford have rejected a bid from Crawley for striker James Constable. Crawley boss Steve Evans told the press their offer was some way off what the U's want for the forward. Aldershot have recalled winger Adam Mekki from his loan spell at Basingstoke. Barnet have loaned utility man Jordan Parkes to Farnboro for an initial month. The 22 year old hasn't featured for the Bees since November.

Southend boss Paul Sturrock says he will have to offload players before he brings any more in. Sturrock has signed five players in January, pushing his squad up to 30. Macclesfield have loaned striker Tom Fisher to Droylesden for an initial month. The teenager made his Silkmen debut three weeks ago after signing in the summer from Stockport.

Cheltenham have released midfielder Andy Gallinagh by mutual consent. The 26 year old came through their youth ranks, making around 160 appearances for the club.
