Massive Three Points says North

In his post match interview, Bristol Rovers manager Shaun North said it was a massive three points for his club.

"It was a massive three points, given that we played on Saturday, while Hereford weren't in action then, but are around us in the League Two table," said North.

"I thought we deserved to be in front at half time tonight and thought that we might have been further ahead.

"The goal was disappointing, as it came from an attack of our own. It was also disappointing because we knew they were capable of hitting us on the break like that and we had spoken about it at half time."

North said he didn't see the red card incident when Hereford's Benoit Dalibard was sent-off.

"I honestly didn't see it and didn't know who had been injured because I was screaming at someone else at the back. I can't really make any comment, though the boys were adamant that it was a red card.

"With regard to the challenge on Gary Sawyer, my first impression was that there was nothing in it but having seen his eye afterwards he obviously did get caught and he has a lump the size of a golf ball on his head.

"It's important you try to keep possession when possible, especially when playing against ten men, and that you make your opponents work hard to get the ball from you. We did that quite well this evening and went on to score a second goal.

"The supporters got right behind us and they need to continue to do that for the up and coming fixtures, starting with Crawley on Saturday. It won't always be great for us, and I hope they will keep getting behind us."
