Rumours in Bristol are suggesting that there will be an announcement regarding the new Rovers manager late this afternoon.
Contenders are thought to include former Bristol City and Yeovil boss, Gary Johnson and Sean O’Driscoll. O’Driscoll and his regular sidekick Richard O’Kelly have believed to have been in discussion with Preston North End regarding their vacant position but talks at Deepdale are understood to have broken down with the League 1 outfit thought to be considering a move for Stevenage’s destiny chaser Graham Westley.
The Pirates supporters appear to be favoring the appointment of O’Driscoll having backed them from 5/1 down to 2/7.
Rovers host Aston Villa on Saturday with their chosen manager expected to be watching from the Stand. They visit Edgar Street on Tuesday evening.
