Next Game: Scarborough In The League At Edgar Street On Tuesday 19th November At 7.45pm

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Evans preferred to Pell by Peters.

New signing Will Evans partnered Simon Clist in the Hereford United mid-field for the second time last night. Director of football Gary Peters explained how he was able to sign the young player from Swindon and why he's currently perferred to Harry Pell.

"We've got a slightly different mid-field in Simon Clist and Will Evans," Peters told supporters before the game.

"Anyone who went to the Burton game will know why Evans was there.

"We've actually known about Will for the last two months and we haven't been able to do anything about it.

"We felt that if we had played him too much at the beginning - we've almost kept him away from Edgar Street so that we could sign him in January.

"We felt if we had kept playing him then Swindon wouldn't have let us sign him.

"Even when his loan was up they allowed him to carry on training here and so we signed him on January 1st. We've signed him for next year as well.

"We know exactly what he has got and after the game against Burton we couldn't really pull him out and stick Harry Pell back in.

"If Harry wants to get in the team he'll have to do better than the players that are in the team."
