Darlington's players have been offered just £200 each by the Administrator to play Saturday's game with Barrow, it has been revealed.
But that figure is being questioned by the players, some of whom haven't been paid in over two months, after they were allegedly promised some of their back wages in the wake of their New Years Day match with Gateshead that reportedly put over £10,000 into the club's accounts.
The coffers are also supposed to have been boosted by £25,000 from Fulham from a clause in the sale of keeper David Stockdale to the Cottagers. Players have questioned the Administator after he offered a total of just £2,400 to the twelve contracted players still at the club - a sum that is set to be beaten by fans' donations to aid their expenses in less than 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Gateshead seem to be set to benefit from the club's demise. They are reported to be the destination for want-away keeper Sam Russell, who put in his notice to quit last week, and they have also confirmed making an offer to the Administrator for striker-turned-defender Liam Hatch.
UPDATE: The Administrators have made all but five non-playing staff redundant, meaning the club does not have enough staff to host their next home game on January 21st. Ticket office staff and the club's groundsman are amongst those dispensed with today, with the Northern Echo reporting that the club will cease to exist if a buyer is not found by January 17th.
