Another new rule coming out of last week's Football League AGM is that the League will now impose a 1% tax on transfers to help fund youth football. They estimate the tax will raise £600,000 a year to fund youth development at League sides. Oxford have loaned striker Matt Green to Mansfield until the end of the year. The former Cardiff man scored only once in 40 games for the U's and Cheltenham last term.
Torquay have confirmed the signing of striker Taiwo Atieno on a one year deal. The former Stevenage man has spent the last two weeks on trial at Plainmoor. Southend midfielder Anthony Grant is claimed to be set for a move to one of a number of Championship sides. The former Chelsea trainee is in the final year of his contract after three seasons at Roots Hall.
Former Bulls loanee Robbie Threlfall is one of two players transfer listed by Bradford. The former Liverpool youngster and midfielder Lewis Hunt were both left out of the Bantams' friendly match with Huddersfield with Peter Jackson confirming afterwards they were both free to leave. Threlfall, now 22, played 12 times in two injury-hit spells at Edgar Street, and is claimed by many Bantams fans to be one of their highest earners.
