Birmingham City are the visitors for tomorrow's first pre-season game at Edgar Street.
The Blues are expected to bring a strong squad, but quite what names that squad contains depends entirely on who is left at St Andrews to board the bus. Since their relegation from the Premier League they have embarked on a somewhat panicked fire sale as they look to shore up their rickety financial state.
The latest out of the door is midfielder Barry Ferguson, with the Blues earning at least £12million from their summer sales so far. Even keeper Ben Foster is likely to be offloaded to ease the wage bill despite him expressing a desire to remain at the club. New boss Chris Hughton has had little say in the sales, and has been unable to make any signings since his arrival at the club a month ago.
Saturday's squad could well be light up front. Strikers Nikola Zigic, Cameron Jerome, and Marlon King are all injured and unlikely to even start the season, while winger Jean Beausejour has been given extra time off after playing in the Copa America.
