News Round-Up

Aldershot have issued a statement expressing their disappointment that the discounted ticket prices for their final game at Lincoln do not include the travelling support. The Shots have, several times this season, included travelling fans in their discounted ticket offers. Cheltenham boss Mark Yates says he is expecting striker Wesley Thomas to leave the club after reading that the player wanted a move closer to his London base.

Torquay have agreed a contract with loanee Joe Oastler for next season. The QPR midfielder, who is to be released from Loftus Road this summer, has played 26 times for the Gulls. Former Bulls midfielder Craig Stanley has told people he will be watching Torquay's final game rather than returning to Morecambe after his loan spell expired. Stanley is expected to leave the Shrimps after allegedly falling out with manager Sammy McIlroy, and has been told by McIlroy that he is not required for the remainder of the season.

Crewe will be reducing the number of players at the club next season as they prepare to cut their playing budget again. Boss Dario Gradi hopes Clayton Donaldson will sign a new deal, but he can only offer the 26 goal forward reduced terms. Port Vale assistant boss Geoff Horsfield wants talks with the club's board to determine whether he has a future at the club. The 37 year old says he will seek their opinion before applying for the manager's post.

Burton are reported to be chasing Port Vale defender Gareth Owen, who has already received an offer from Crewe. The Railwaymen are reported to have offered him a two year deal with capacity to help on the coaching side. Accrington striker Jimmy Ryan is set for a move to Real Zaragoza according to press reports. The former Liverpool trainee is out of contract in the summer and Stanley would receive no fee if he moved abroad.

Bristol Rovers are to consider caretaker boss Stuart Campbell's future with the club later in the week. They will compile a shortlist of potential managers, with Campbell on the list. The defender has collected 15 points from 11 games after Dave Penney managed only eight from 13. Stockport caretaker boss Ray Mathias has confirmed he will apply for the full time job after it was advertised yesterday.

Worcester City's future is up in the air with the club facing a £1.5million funding gap to build their new stadium. They have to vacate St Georges Lane in two years, but cannot afford their proposed Nunnery Way home despite the developers pressing ahead with it. Chairman Anthony Hampson says the club is just about breaking even but has no ability to fund the move. Exeter have announced they are releasing strikers Ben Watson and James Norwood. The pair have had loan spells in the Conference this season.

Southend boss Paul Sturrock has released five players, and more are likely to follow. Keeper Rhys Evans, full back Johnny Herd, midfielders Adam Bouzid and Miguel Comminges, and winger Louie Soares have all been let go. Soares was the only one of the group to play regularly for the Shrimpers this term. Macclesfield have reported a £267,000 loss for last season, blaming reduced income for the losses. They say they had to modify plans for the current season to keep the club viable, and have already set budgets for next season.

Local residents in Barnet have been told that one of the councillors that blocked the football club's relocation to the Copthall Stadium will vote against Saracens' plans for the ground. Former Bulls midfielder Andy Ferrell is one of seven released by Gateshead. The Geordie had a loan spell at Barrow late in the season and is expected to be approached by the Holker Street outfit.
