Michael Rose Banned for Speeding

Former Hereford United defender Michael Rose has been fined for speeding. After the court case he used Twitter to suggest that the British legal system was unfair.

Rose was fined £500 by Worcester magistrates yesterday. On top of that he received a six month ban and six points on his licence.

It was said that Rose, who lives in Aylestone Hill, Hereford, was caught speeding near Droitwich whilst driving a Mercedes last year. Later he failed to reply to a letter about who was driving the car.

Then the tweets.

"This country is a joke, legal system is all wrong!! Get me abroad now!! Mite not bother comin bk!! Absolute joke!! #raging!!

"For those of u wonderin I got a 6month drivin ban an a fine of £575 for doin 34 in a 30 wot a joke this country is!!!"

Swindon Town refused to comment to the local paper but one reply on the This Is Wiltshire site summed up the situation.

"Sadly, none of this speeding happened on the pitch at the CG where you were routinely passed by old bangers all season."
