Davey remains 'At The Moment'

Tim Russon has backed Simon Davey as manager of Hereford United for the present but suggests that there might have to be a change at some stage if results don't improve.

Several supporters have openly called for Davey's head but Russon, in his interview with Trevor Owens of BBC Hereford and Worcester earlier today, has dismissed these calls at least for now.

"Like all the fans you're upset, you go home at night and think it's not good," said the Hereford United vice-chairman.

"It's not a question of pointing the finger of blame at one particular person."

Reminder by Trevor Owens that the fans are pointing the finger of blame at one particular person, Russon said that's always going to happen.

"It's easy to panic, it's easy for the knee-jerk. We've got to understand what the problems are.

"At some stage you've got to come to some sort of decision or way of cracking what the problems are"

Trevor Owens then asked if Simon Davey 'remains your man'.

"Yes he does at the moment," said Russon.

"Because both of us think well what do you do - knee-jerk it's easy but you've also got to think what comes next. It's a hugh decision to make.

"The manager has come in, we've backed him, he's built the squad.

"And in a way he's got to be given, or allowed, time to let that squad try and develope.

"But at the same time there is a cut-off point. He's knows that. Any manager knows that.

"There is a clock that is ticking but what the dial is we don't know.

"There's got to be a point where you reach and say well some action has to be taken."
