Hereford United manager Simon Davey has drifted from 14/1 to 20/1 to be the next Welsh manager.
The news will probably disappoint a section of the support at Edgar Street this afternoon who were heard to chant 'Davey for Wales'.
That wasn't the only stick Davey came in for as the match progressed this afternoon. His initial line-up and later substitutions were difficult to follow. In particular playing Mathieu Manset on the left of midfield was challenged by many fans.
Fans also questioned the tactic of launching long balls which simply didn't work with Stuart Fleetwood and Sam Malsom playing up-front.
Meanwhile the press have blamed O'Neil Thompson for Oxford's first goal.
The big defender from Barnsley has had a run of games in which he hasn't looked the player he was reputed to be when signed on loan by manager Davey and today was no exception.
Here's a few paragraphs from various sources. Firstly the Oxford Times:
But there was to be no denying Constable in the 35th minute after Hereford centre half O’Neil Thompson charged upfield on a hopeful attack – and then couldn’t get back!
Secondly the Oxford Official Website:
United were looking far more likely to score and when Hereford centre half O'Neil Thompson deserted his post to play right wing on 35 minutes he left his side horribly exposed. Heslop drove forward through the heart of the midfield to exploit that space with no one covering for Thompson's absence.
Thirdly Richard Prime from the Hereford Times:
Oxford took the lead on 35 minutes.
Thompson was caught out of position and gave the ball away in midfield.
Oxford broke away quickly and Matt Green provided the cross for Constable to score at the second attempt from a yard out.
