Warm Welcome Expected for Kovacs at Chesterfield

Janos Kovacs, the Hereford United captain, is expected to be given a warm welcome by Chesterfield at their new stadium (picture by Tina Jenner) when he returns to one of his former clubs tomorrow according to the Derbyshire Times.

In an acticle the paper says that Kovacs was 'always very popular with the Saltergate faithful.'

They asked Richard Prime from the Hereford Times about how Kovacs was getting on with his new club.

"He is quite a personality," said Prime.

"He whips the crowd up into a frenzy when he leads the team out on to the pitch and so far he has scored 100 per cent of Hereford's goals."

Which, unfortunately, is just one.

Prime also spoke about striker Mathieu Manset whom he thinks could 'blossom' with the Bulls

"He's certainly not a one-trick target man. He's a big lad and is extremely mobile but at the moment he's very raw."

Meanwhile Chesterfield manager John Sheridan has looked forward to the game.

"Hereford have got off to a good start, they are strong and organised and they'll believe they can have a good season," he said.

"We're the home side though and like any team who play here we'll try and take the game to them."
