News Round Up

It's not been a good 24 hours for football all round. Kidderminster announced the death of director Gordon Howard after a fire at his home in Bermuda, while Southampton announced the death of their owner Markus Leibherr at the age of 62. The Swiss billionaire bought the club 13 months ago, but it is unclear what will happen to them now.

Bromsgrove Rovers have been kicked out of the Zamaretto League after failing to secure a new lease on their Victoria Ground home. The club were told by the council last month to hand the keys back as the ground would be transferred to the new Bromsgrove Sporting club, but they would be allowed to share the facilities, however they fought the order and failed to secure the lease by Monday's deadline.

Wycombe's England u19 man Matt Phillips is the subject of a bid by Bristol City, according to Sky Sports. Peterboro say they accepted three firm cash bids for Exodus Geoghaghon before his loan move to Rotherham, but the player failed to agree terms each time. Torquay have signed winger Wayne Carlisle after releasing him in the summer. The 30 year old needed to prove his fitness to Gulls boss Paul Buckle.

Tamworth have signed former Lincoln man Stefan Oakes. Crawley have had a six-figure bid for AFC Wimbledon striker Danny Kedwell rejected, with Dons chief Erik Samuelson saying he would only sell him to a Championship club. Southend have sucessfully settled their second winding up order brought by a loan company after Sainsburys also paid that debt off.
