Simon Davey was interviewed by BBC Hereford and Worcester's Keith Hall after this afternoon's match at Edgar Street.
"It'a another clean sheet," said the Hereford United manager.
"It's another point, four points from two games.
"We probably would have settled for that. But we've done it backwards. If we've have gone to Crewe and drawn and then won here we would have been maybe a little bit more happier.
"They put five behind the ball so it was difficult for us to get any sort of passing movements going."
Gillingham's Akinfenwa gave the Bulls plenty to do.
"He's a big strong boy. A lot of defenders even in the higher leagues have had problems with him. It was twelve rounds I think.
"I'm pleased we kept a clean sheet so we off to an away game at Chesterfield undefeated.
"It was a tough game but we move forward."
Davey later mentioned the performance of keeper Adam Bartlett who made one particularily good save near the end of the game.
"You can't ask any more of a goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.
"It was a difficult decision in pre-season between him and Dan Connor and he's trying to keep that shirt and it's two clean sheets so he keeps it."
