On Wednesday, the Bulls named Jeremiah Ani on the teamsheet for their match with Plymouth.
He was an unused sub and, some remarked, he appeared to not even be on the bench at all. This now appears to be true. On Saturday he turned out for Rotherham in their win over Tamworth, with boss Ronnie Moore telling the press Ani had played for their youth side on Wednesday instead:
"He has come in and trained well, played on Wednesday with the kids at Stocksbridge and changed the game with his heart and work rate. He had the opportunity to go to Plymouth last year but the manager at the time Paul Mariner left the club. He has done a pre-season with Notts County and after we sent the circular around saying we needed a striker the manager, Craig Short, recommended him because they had too many strikers."
The Millers reported on Wednesday that the side that took on Stocksbridge was a youth team with two of their younger pros and coach Paul Warne adding to the side.
