Simon Davey and Barnsley director Don Rowing have spoken to the Sheffield Star about the signing of O'Neil Thompson, with the confirmation that the Bulls are only paying part of his wages:
"O'Neil's a player I've admired for a while, that's why I brought him to Barnsley," Davey told The Star. "He can play in defence and midfield, he's going to be important player for us next season. I wanted to sign O'Neil when I was at Darlington, but I've stayed in touch with him and he was keen to join up with me again."
Tykes director Don Rowing added: "I've spoken to Simon and we agreed that O'Neil could join Hereford; they have agreed to pay some of his wages. It's a deal that suits us because O'Neil has one year left on his contract and he hasn't played much for the first team."
