Gary Hooper is claimed by the morning press to be set for a £2.5million switch to Newcastle. The move would give ailing Southend a £500,000 boost with their sell-on clause. Aldershot have signed 34 year old former Reading and Burnley midfielder Glen Little on a 12 month deal. He has started just 16 League games in the last two seasons.

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler wants Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan. The Gills have signed former Woking defender Tony Sinclair on a one year contract. Stockport have signed former Weymouth defender Jordan Rose. The 20 year old left the Terras in March as their financial situation worsened and ended the season at Paulton Rovers.

Accrington say they have submitted their overdue accounts that caused them to get a transfer embargo. They hope to have that embargo lifted soon. They have also confirmed that former chairman Eric Whalley still owns the majority of the shares with the transfer to chief executive Dave O'Neill still to be completed after nearly two years.

Crewe have signed centre back Adam Dugdale on a six month contract. The 22 year old was an Academy graduate at Crewe but was released three years ago before playing for a number of non-league sides. Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner blamed the pitch for their performance in last night's single goal victory over Rushden. The Shrews had striker Matt Harrold taken to hospital after a clash of heads, and needed a late deflected goal to avoid the draw.

Lincoln target Steven Lennon, who was offered a contract by Chris Sutton at the end of last season, has signed for Irish side Dundalk. Oxford have signed released Chelsea defender Harry Worley on a three year deal. The 21 year old played 22 times on loan at Crewe last season. Burton have signed former Bulls loanee Lewis Young, ex-Southampton trainee Garyn Preen, and former Aston Villa youngster Jack Dyer on one year contracts.

Sheffield Wednesday are the latest side to get a winding up order from HMRC over unpaid taxes. They will meet the taxman in court on August 11th over £550,000 of unpaid PAYE. Exeter have announced the signing of former Barnet striker John O'Flynn, beating Gillingham and Lincoln to the signature. Southend have added ex-Shrewsbury defender Graham Coughlan and former Bristol Rovers keeper Rhys Evans to the queue of players waiting on their transfer embargo to be lifted.

Wycombe have signed another player from Brentford, this time central defender Alan Bennett. The 28 year old, who played six times for the Chairboys on loan last season, is the fourth Bee to make the move. Aldershot have agreed a fee with Brentford for the transfer of forward Kirk Hudson, avoiding the need for a tribunal. The player made the move a month ago.
