Here is a profile of Hereford's latest signing Daniel Stratford.
Stratford was born in London on May 29th, 1985. The versatile midfielder started his career at Fulham's Youth Academy, eventually forcing his way into the Reserves at Craven Cottage. He failed to make the breakthrough into the first-team though and moved to the United States in 2004, where he played for West Virginia University for three seasons. He combined his playing career with his studies, where he majored in physical education training. Stratford travelled all over the States playing 'soccer', including a 26 hour round trip to Massachusetts!
After completing his time with the University team, Stratford signed for MLS Giants DC United, although he only played five times for the capital's football team. Last season, Stratford played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle under former England international Terry Butcher. He played in twelve matches, scoring once, helping Inverness on their way to the top flight after winning the Scottish First Division. In May 2010, Stratford was released by the Scottish outfit.
Stratford subsequently joined Hereford United following a successful trial on the 16th July 2010.
