Rotherham are claimed to be chasing released Hartlepool midfielder Ritchie Jones. The 23 year old former Man Utd trainee was deemed 'inconsistent' during his two year spell with the monkey hangers. Gillingham have announced that assistant manager Mark Robson has left the club for personal reasons after less than a month in the job. He was previously a coach under former Gills manager Mark Stimson.

Bradford have denied they are about to be taken over. Joint owners Mark Lawn and Julian Rhodes say they will sell the club for what they paid for it if a new investor can put more into the club than they can. Northampton want to resign loan midfielder John Johnson after a successful spell last season, but they will have to wait until late into pre-season as parent club Middlesboro want to assess the player first.

Cheltenham striker Justin Richards says he is interested in a move to Port Vale after his agent held talks with the Valiants. Richards is out of contract at Whaddon Road, but a new one year deal has been offered. Oldham have named former Leicester striker Paul Dickov as their new player-manager on a one year deal.

Oxford have signed released Barnsley midfielder Simon Heslop on a three year deal. The 23 year old has had seven loan spells with various League Two and Conference sides. Burton have confirmed an interest in departing Crewe keeper Adam Legzdins and Partick stopper Jonny Tuffey.
