News Round Up

Barry Fry continues his game of Peterboro striker hokey-cokey, with Liam Hatch rejoining Darlington on loan until the end of the season. Hatch has been in - and out - of Darlington before with a second loan previously cancelled, while bids from other clubs have since been denied, and Scott Rendell has have two season long moves to Cambridge anulled with the two sides blaming each other over changing terms. Expect either Hatch or Rendell to have their status changed again by the end of the week.

Leicester striker DJ Campbell has joined Blackpool on loan for a month. He has failed to scored in eleven attempts this season after scoring only five last term after a £1.7million move. The Foxes have also allowed teenager Scott Garner to join Mansfield on a permanent basis. Southend striker Francis Laurent will be out for six weeks after fracturing an ankle, but the club have Richie Foran back after Darlington opted not to extend his loan.

Stockport boss Jim Gannon, a qualified accountant, has presented the club with a business plan to protect his current squad and keep next season's budget at the proposed level. The proposed sale of Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward to Barnsley has collapsed over the player's personal terms. The sale would have been worth £80,000 to Torquay who hold a sell-on clause.

Hibernian are to complain to the FL and FA over Colchester's actions during their bid for Hibs defender Rob Jones. Crewe have been linked with a move for Stockport defender Gareth Owen, who was due to join rivals Port Vale. Bath City players will forego win bonuses in order to stop player releases. The club told the playing staff two would have to leave due to financial constraints, but the squad agreed to waive bonuses to reduce cuts.

MK Dons full back Dean Lewington is a target for Swansea, according to press reports, with a bid of £400,000 imminent. Agent friendly Sky Sports is reporting that Swindon striker Simon Cox is wanted by Fulham and Bolton, with Sheff Utd lining up a £750,000 bid. The former Reading man has scored 22 times in 12 months at the County Ground. Colchester are claimed to be chasing ex-Bull Sherjil Macdonald. Blackpool, Peterboro, and Swindon are also in the hunt, according to the Vital Colchester website, but there doesn't appear to be any credible source behind the claims.

Stockport have allowed midfielder Jason Taylor to join Rotherham on a free transfer. The former Oldham trainee was a regular last season but has been only a bit part this term. Ex-Bull Joe Anyinsah is expected to join Carlisle after they outbid Brighton for his services. Both sides have had the winger on loan over the last 18 months. Morecambe have paid up the contract of winger Paul Lloyd. The move will ease their problems under the wage capping rules.

Ex-Bull Stuart Fleetwood has extended his loan at Brighton for a third month after two goals in 12 games so far.
