Worcester City will seek urgent boardroom talks next week after a plea for supporters to attend today's home match went unanswered.
Just 588 supporters turned up for their 1-1 draw with Bognor Regis Town, their second lowest gate of the season despite giving under 16's free entry. The club had confirmed before the match that they were relying on gate receipts to pay the wages this week, but the amount taken will struggle to cover the required amount.
Their bank has refused to further extend their credit, and want urgent answers to get the club running close to their break-even of nearly 1,000 gates. In comparison Worcester Warriors rugby side were expecting a record crowd for their home match today after opening a new capacity increasing stand.
